Dr Makaziwe Mandela

Dr Makaziwe Mandela holds a BA Social Work from the University of Fort Hare, and an Honours in Sociology from the University of Natal.  In 1984, she was awarded a Fulbright Foreign Scholarship and a Fulbright Distinguished Fellowship Award, allowing her to attain a Masters in Sociology and a Doctorate in Anthropology from the University of Massachussets. Dr Mandela has sat on the boards of Rand Water Services, Enviroserv Limited and the Nelson Mandela Foundation.  She is a consultant in training development and life skills at Self Empowerment International, and sits on the board of Nestle SA.  In addition, she is the Chairman of House of Mandela, a business that she started with her daughter in 2010.
